I'd like to welcome everyone to our new message board, which is considerably more user-friendly than its predecessors, and which I encourage you all to make use of. For those who are interested, the old message forum is being maintained for historic reference purposes here: p199.ezboard.com/btheempireofatlantiumpublicmessageforum

I am IP Cervantes of the Empire and Assistant to HE Michael Zargarov IL to Texas
I would like to say a BIG Howdy to the Emperor and the Brazilian Diplomatic Crops.
This new message board is going to be a hit.
~~~
Here in Texas as HE Michael said
Since post 9/11 many people are waving more US flags and being a little more patriotic and will not consider Atlantium Citizenship. Since HE Michael is the last IL to North American (to be more specific America) it is going to be hard to promote Atlatnium here in the States.
I see this as a challenge which can be fun and one that may take a little longer.
Regards, IP Cervantes Marlin, Texas
Hello Richard,
It's good to see you here.
Regarding your observations concerning present attitudes in the United States, the Imperial Administration has seen no evidence that the events of 2001 and in Afghanistan and Iraq have had any detrimental impact on population growth.
Atlantian citizens based in the US continue to constitute one of the largest single national concentrations of our population.
We should not forget that the current US Administration was elected by a small minority of the electorate, and its views are not necessarily representative of the population at large.
YIM you are right but people I have talked to say that Atlantium is Illegal and out to steal people's identity's etc..,
I have told them that Atlantium is not that type of Illegal operation's. I will be thinking of way's on how to promote Atlantium in Marlin and in Midland, Odessa, and Pecos since these are the most traveled towns I go to.
Question:
Is there a total amount online as to how many citizens the Empire has and which countries hold the most Atlantium Citizens?. IE Rankings
Atlantium is neither "illegal", nor "out to steal people's identities".
Like all other reputable public or commercial organisation we collect personal data in order to ensure that we are dealing with real human beings who are exactly who they claim to be - and not false or invented identites. In the current global climate this approach is not something that we are prepared to compromise in any way, as our integrity is non-negotiable.
In order to ensure privacy the population database is maintained entirely offline, and is only available to 3 members of the Administration - myself, the Minister of State and the Director of Internal Affairs.
It seems strange that people should say Atlantium is out to steal their identity when they do not even know (or care to know?) what Atlantium is or stands for. The phenonenon is rather like the opinionated uninformed person who says "I've never eaten broccoli -- but I'm sure I wouldn't like it!" Would IP Cervantes please advise if Marlin, Midland, Odessa and Pecos are small, rural towns -- where residents perhaps tend to be more insular?
Would IP Cervantes please advise if Marlin, Midland, Odessa and Pecos are small, rural towns -- where residents perhaps tend to be more insular? Marlin is a small size city and Midland-Odessa are both Metropolitans but are separate City's. As for Pecos it is a very small city. I can't say people are insular but I will say this: When I talk to people about Atlantium like to friends, family they all say you better watch out. I tell them first of all you don't know anything about Atlantium because you have not visited there website to gain more information than just hear that its a small nation you never heard of. Once you gain more knowledge than you can decide for yourself.
In my experience these sorts of problems tend to arise due to simple conceptual confusion.
In order to properly address them it is necessary to tailor our message to ensure those we communicate with don't mistake us for something we are not.
Describing Atlantium as merely a "small, new unrecognised country" creates a fairly negative impression in the minds of many people. Wording of this nature is associated in most people's minds with either frivolous online micronations or loopy libertarian secession groups.
Describing Atlantium as "a unique, socially progressive global sovereignty organisation, established for nearly a quarter of a century, with members in over 90 countries", on the other hand, paints an entirely different - and far more accurate - picture of who we are and what we represent.
I feel regret that I have not done more to promote Atlantium. I DO have mention of the Empire on my website, but have had little response. When Atlantium's aims are better known and we Legates have something positive with which to promote the Empire's ideals, its promotion may be a cause to which we will all feel greater ability in attempting.
